The Show Must Go On....

I feel like My Brian is trying to escape from my Head. I feel it knocking hard against both sides, looking for an exit.
But to the stage I go.
It has stared out of my eyes then kicked. My jaws lock in pain...I spend a great amount of time without talking and if I wasn't the show I'd sleep.
But to the stage I go.
It settles behind my right eye then slowly oozes to my chin, the pain is so intense I develop an evil kind of grin.
To the stage I go.
Every sound and flash of light makes my mouth water and I feel that I will soon vomit...
But to the stage I go.
My eyes are watering and my stomach is doing flips.
Knock, Knock, Knock!
Bang,Bang, Bang!
To the stage!
Deep Breath in...Deep Breath out...
I think My Brian is trying to escape from my Head. I feel it knocking hard against both sides, looking for an exit.

Lights...Camera...Action!

The Ingénue

A Director is a practitioner in the theatre field who oversees and orchestrates the mounting of a theatre production by unifying various endeavors and aspects of production. The director's function is to ensure the quality and completeness of theatre production and to lead the members of the creative team into realizing their artistic vision for it. The director therefore collaborates with a team of creative individuals and other staff… but this is NOT always true. Sometime, nay often, the Director works much more like a Dictator. They command certain actions and reject ides that would be in best interest of the actor; specifically in the event of releasing an actress from the constraints of service.

The actress finds herself chained to the stage, locked into a type casted role of what she is expected to be. The Director suggests other roles but is seemingly not committed to the advancing of the actress into the positions to obtain them. The aging actress will grow old; have only played the role of an ingénue. Her youth will be spent, her beauty will fade and her whole life will have been a show; never acted out for herself but for others. One the outside she portrays the image of the gentle, sweet, virginal young woman she once was but on the inside she is filled with anger and rage.

She is in NO danger and needs NO protection but due to her lack of independence, she still seems to be waiting to be rescued. The Director can see no better fit for the actress than this… she can work Forever in the role, how dare the actress complain.

Frustration on Stage

The Director called yet another early rehearsal, this one even earlier than the ones before. My mind and body grow weaker with each passing hour. These rehearsals are beginning to run together. I know that the previous one ended at 3:30am but here we are... again. 6:20am and I'm on. The stage crew is already in full swing, banging away at the set, as if they have NO idea of the time. I walk past then in a hurry, so that they will not have time to react to my presents. I don't want to yell at any one but I can feel in brewing inside. My Stress level rises and I'm becoming increasingly more frustrated as the day's seem to grow longer. I often become confused as to the roll I'm expected to play, the loving supportive daughter, the assassinate, child 2, the servant, the driver, the repair woman, the mediator, or the visitor. There are so... many parts and very few players.

Take 1: Ghetto Black Names

You have got be kidding me,
This is how things go to fare... It all start with a jokes and those jokes turn into a false understanding of who we really are. Your name is a big part of who you are, it has a meaning of importance NO matter how odd it may be. Your name defines your person and the person you will be. It is not fact "that a rose by any other name would smell as sweet." but a person by any Name is a person.

Act 1- Happy Memorial Day.

Have a Happy Memorial Day... but let us not forget what this day is really about, those that gave their lives so that we may have the luxury of FREEDOM.

Sergeant Rodney Maxwell Davis

Rodney M. Davis was born April 7, 1942, in Macon, Georgia. He attended elementary school and high school there and graduated from Peter G. Appling High School, May 29, 1961.

Shortly after graduation, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in his hometown, August 31, 1961; then reported for recruit training with the First Recruit Training Battalion Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island, South Carolina. Upon completion of recruit training in December 1961, he was transferred to the Marine Corps Base, Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, and under-went Individual Combat Training with the Second Battalion, First Infantry Training Regiment, graduating the following February.

He then joined Company "K",Third Battalion, Second Marines, Second Marine Division, FMF, at Camp Lejeune and served as a rifleman until May 1964. While stationed at Camp Lejeune, he was promoted to Private First Class, April 1, 1962, and to Lance Corporal, January 1, 1964.

Lance Corporal Davis was ordered to London, England, for a three year tour of duty as Guard with the United States Marine Detachment, Naval Activities. He was promoted to Corporal, January 1, 1966, and to Sergeant, December 1, 1966.

Ordered to the Republic of Vietnam in August 1967, he was assigned duty as a Platoon Guide with Company "B", First Battalion, Fifth Marines, First Marine Division. He was operating with his unit in the Quang Nam Province on a search and clear mission during Operation SWIFT, when they were attacked by a large North Vietnamese force. Elements of the platoon were pinned down in a trench line by mortars, heavy automatic and small arms fire. He went from man to man encouraging them on and also returning fire at the same time. An enemy hand grenade fell in the trenches his men were fighting from and without hesitation he threw himself upon the grenade. He saved his fellow Marines in this selfless act and thus earned the nation's highest military decoration . . . the Medal of Honor.

His medals and decorations include: the Purple Heart; the Good Conduct Medal; the National Defense Service Medal; the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal; the Vietnam Service Medal; the Military Merit Medal; the Gallantry Cross with Palm; and the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal.

How Courageous is this act, Jesus said, "Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends." (John 15:13) This is the make of HERO'S.

I'm often reminded, that this is Not just some information on a some Man... Rodney Davis was my Uncle. A Son to my Grandparents the late Gordon N. Davis Sr. & Ruth A. Davis. A Brother to my remaining uncles Gordon Jr., Howard, Robert and my mother Debra. A Husband, Father and Friend. In our remembrance of the fallen on this special day, let us also remember those that will be forever touched by their absence.

*Lights up on church(s) - world in panic

In the end, all the followers of God gather in their own way to ask the Lord for forgiveness and salvation. The Baptist joined in their houses of fellowship where they prayed until their churches fell from their very foundations . The Evangelist watched on television in disbelief. Catholics turned to the Pope for intersession on their behalf, while secretly saying their own personal Hail Marys. The Episcopalians gathered breads, kegs and wine and sang every song in their arsenal. The Jews shock with fear..... but where amazingly comforted in the fact that it was God instead of Jesus that had come to cast down the judgment. Followers of the Prophet Muhammad and the Great Buddha where shocked when God proclaimed…

“I am the Great I am here for all… I am one in the same, He who you worship, the same am I.”

Nothing was said by the Atheist, God touched them saying…"you needed to only believe in something but you have not." and they fell.

-When the Father comes it will matter not your denominations, if your house is not in order, your cries will fall on the deaf ears of the Son.

The Post Communion Prayer

Eternal God, Heavenly Father, you have graciously accepted us as living members of your Son our Savior Jesus Christ, and you have fed us with spiritual food in the Sacrament of the Body and Blood. Send us now into the world in peace, and grant us strength and courage to love and serve you with gladness and singleness of heart; through Christ our Lord. Amen.
